Hi there.
I'm Taneill Davis of HuckleBee Photography, a family and newborn photographer located in Lethbridge, AB. I love how photography has opened my eyes to see the beauty in everything around me. The ordinary can be transformed into magic through a camera lens. My goal is to capture honest, candid, beautiful images of the most precious people in your life. My family is my greatest inspiration. I share our life in my personal Instagram gallery @taneill. These images are my heart and soul.
The Huckle and the B in HuckleBee.
My son Huck is on the left and I often call him Huckles. Beckett is my oldest and he has always been my Baby B. I've photographed these two since the day they were born. Back then I had a point and shoot camera and no idea how to use my husband's DSLR other than on auto. These two have been my muses to improve my craft. Preserving their lives one frame at a time brings me such joy. My photographs are the only things I have that keep my memory fresh of moments I know I would otherwise have long forgotten. It only feels fitting to name my company after them since they have been my greatest inspiration.
I GET ASKED ALL THE TIME...
"Where's the Captain?"
Yes, the inspiration for my name came from the 70's singing power couple duo The Captain and Tennille. Did you know Tennille was her last name? Her first was Toni.

Once I remember counting 17 different name spellings on my school valentines.

I've been asked, "Where's the Captain?" more times than I can count. My husband also gets asked frequently, "Are you the Captain?" Hardy, har, har.

Working from home, which I absolutely love!
I'm an introvert at heart and I cherish my alone time. My kids are out of the house for six hours straight so that's my time to cull and edit, while getting a load of laundry done and some supper started in the background.
My boy tribe. My husband and my two sons are my everything. We also have a very tight knit family with our parents and siblings and love spending time with all of them.

A FEW THINGS I LIKE AND LOVE...
We travel all the time but I've never planned a trip. My husband is an amazing hobby travel agent and plans, books and executes all our family adventures. Lots of times I have no idea what he has planned. I like to get surprised along the way.
I'm a TV watcher, not a book reader. I used to read books before kids but now they put me to sleep. Same thing with movies; they're too long! My favourite feel-good shows are: Silicon Valley, Schitt's Creek, Grace and Frankie, Master of None, Better Call Saul, and Broad City. The two most memorable series are ever watched are Breaking Bad and Six Feet Under.
I love going to concerts at amazing venues. Again, my husband plans all these trips but they're my favourite reason to travel. Some of my favourites have been Dave Matthews at The Gorge, Tom Petty with Stevie Nicks at The Greek Theatre, Willie Nelson at The Filmore in San Fransisco, OAR at Red Rocks Ampitheatre, Florence and the Machine at Zilker Park during the Austin City Limits Festival.
My favourite life-changing products:
1. I'm obsessed with my Vitamix blender. I use it every single day and can't imagine my life before I owned one. Kitchen prep and health game changer.
2. I recently bought a silk-filled duvet and LOVE IT! It's thin and light but tucks in around you like a warm hug. I swear I'm sleeping better.
3. My Loopy iPhone case. I haven't dropped my phone since using it and it makes handeling your phone so much easier. Could never go back to a regular case.
